When is Prime Day 2021?

Amazon Prime Day 2021 begins on Monday, June 21 at 12 AM PDT. The event runs continuously through the conclusion of the following day – Tuesday, June 22, 2021 at 11:59 PM PDT.

What is Prime Day?

What started as a 24-hour anniversary event for the massive retailer, Amazon, during 2015 has transformed into an annual two-day sales extravaganza. Amazon and its vendors host steep discounts across all product categories during Prime Day.

Vendors benefit from a huge sales bump during the traditionally slow (for many) summer retail season. This can be huge for small businesses, especially. And people like you and I can snag critical kitchen items at a steep discount, if we keep an eye out for the right deals to come along.

Participating brands must discount their eligible products by at least 20% off of the lowest published price from the preceding 90 days. New deals go live every hour. The biggest challenge is finding the right deals before they sell out or expire!

How Do I Participate In Prime Day?

You will need an Amazon Prime membership to take advantage of all the Prime Day deals.

Fortunately, Amazon is offering a free 30-day trial if you aren’t already a Prime member. You can cancel anytime during the trial window. The trial will give you access to Prime Day deals, plus free delivery and streaming options for a huge library of music, TV shows, and movies.

How Can I Support Small Businesses During Prime Day?

This year, Amazon is running a special initiative to support small businesses in the U.S., Japan, and some European countries.

Prime Members who spend $10 on qualified products on Amazon Storefronts between June 7 and 20 2021, will earn a $10 credit to spend on Prime Day. This is an exclusive offer only for Prime Members and there are some restrictions on which storefronts offer qualifying purchases.

What Are The Best Items On Sale?

We’ll be updating this page hourly with the best deals once Prime Day arrives. Fortunately, there are several of our favorite brands that are hosting sales in lead up to the main sales event. Here are are a few great products that we recommend, and that you can find at a discount in advance of June 21-22.

All-Clad D5 Cookware Set

Read Our Review: All-Clad D3 vs. D5: How The Lines stack Up

The D5 line is a beefed up version of the D3 cookware. As you may have guessed, D5 pots and pans feature five bonded layers rather than three. It’s a great fit if you want spill free rims, and the extra layers really shine for low-and-slow cooking or braising.

Wusthof Crafter, Block Set

Read Our Review: how To Pick The Right Wusthof For Your Kitchen

From the handles to the brass rivets to the hand finishing, these knives drip with old school style. Though they’re not a super pricey knife set, the Crafter series easily looks like it could cost twice as much. If you want a knife for your kitchen that has beauty and stellar performance, the Crafter Series is right for you.

Shun Classic Sears & Utility Knife

Read Our Review: Shun Knives Review: A Look At The Lines

Each knife in the Classic series is made with Shun’s proprietary VG-Max stainless steel. A combination of high carbon Japanese steel and select minerals, it combines the best of sharpness and stain resistance.

Broan-NuTone Glacier Range Hood

Read Our Review: 9 Best Under Cabinet Range Hoods

Broan’s Glacier Series offers a variety of quiet and energy efficient options for under cabinet range hoods. When it comes to range hoods, noise levels typically fall between one and seven sones. At 1.5 sones, this model is not the quietest on the market, but it’s not far off. And offered at about half the price of options that are marginally quieter.

Victorinox Bread Knife

Read Our Review: Best Overall Bread Knife

Combining a long, extra sharp blade and the most comfortable handle around is a recipe for a top-quality bread knife. Victorinox’s high carbon steel bread knife has all of that wrapped up in an attractive package, at a great price. It’s fully capable of handling bread and tomatoes, as well as fruits, tough vegetables, and holiday roasts. If you’re looking for one serrated knife to handle everything a chef’s knife can’t, this is the one!

Mercer Culinary 6″ Boning Knife

Read Our Review: An Overview Of Every Knife Series by Mercer Culinary

Just about every kitchen I’ve ever worked in had a Millennia series knife. They’re the most affordable of all Mercer Culinary knives, and a standby for outfitting kitchens on a tight budget. The handles are comfortable and slip-resistant, and the stainless steel blades are quite sharp for being stamped rather than forged. So while the Millennia series knives aren’t the best you’ll ever use, they’re extremely high quality compared to their low price.

Zojirushi 5.5 Cup Japanese Rice Cooker

Read Our Review: Best Overall Japanese Rice Cooker

I like to think that I make a mean pot of white rice on my stovetop. But, when it comes to brown rice, I can never seem to get it right. If you’re in the same boat or you don’t know how to cook rice in general, this Zojirushi NS-TSC10 will do all the work and thinking for you.

Tramontina Enameled Dutch Oven

Read Our Review: Tramontina Dutch oven Review

While the Tramontina dutch oven is less durable than top-end enameled cast iron cookware, it is also significantly more affordable for most people. In fact, you can replace it multiple times before spending the same amount it would cost for a Staub or Le Creuset dutch oven. For most kitchens this is going to be a great buy, and if you use it heavily over the next several years then you might consider upgrading on the next purchase.

Lodge 10.25″ Cast Iron Skillet

Read Our Review: Best Overall Cast Iron Skillet

This skillet has high sides, which makes it a great fit for frying. It is available in multiple sizes, though the 10.25” version is probably the best fit for most stovetops. It weighs in at 5.4 lbs, with thick side walls providing great heat retention, but not too heavy to make maneuvering the pan difficult.

GreenLife SoftGrip, 16-Piece Ceramic Cookware Set

Read Our Review: GreenLife Ceramic Cookware Review

The GreenLife 10-piece set fills a colorful gap at the “price conscious” end of the ceramic cookware market. If aesthetic is important to you, we haven’t seen anything else with this level of color optionality.

Anova Culinary Sous Vide Precision Cooker Nano

Read Our Review: Best Overall Sous Vide

The Anova precision cooker nano is the best way to get into sous vide cooking, but it’s also not what I would consider an entry-level machine. It’s much better. This option is simple and easy to use if you’re just getting started, but I also know several pros who use this as their go-to when cooking at home.

Cuisinart Multiclad Pro, 12-Piece Cookware Set

Read Our Review: Cuisinart Stainless Steel Cookware Review

Cuisinart offers a great introduction to stainless steel cookware. All three lines are functional and inexpensive. But, the Professional Series is too similar to the Chef’s Classic stainless steel cookware to be worth the higher price tag. Instead, skip it and go for their higher-end (but still affordable) Multiclad Pro stainless.

FoodSaver FM5200 2-in-1 Automatic Vacuum Sealer Machine

Mercer Culinary Magnetic Knife Board

Read Our Review: The Essentials Of Knife Storage

Countertop magnetic blocks are slimmer than standard knife blocks, and are easier to clean, too. If you’re keen on saving space with a wall-mounted rack, Mercer Culinary’s 24” Magnetic Knife Bar gives plenty of storage space. Mercer’s magnetic countertop knife block is equally well-equipped and available in three custom sizes.
