- 1 head of iceberg lettuce
Instructions
For Iceberg Wedges
- Peel and discard any outer brown or wilted leaves.
- Wash and pat dry.
- Cut the head of lettuce in half.
- Cut each of those halves again to create quarters with cores intact.
- Begin with your knife parallel to the cutting board, then turn it to a 45-degree angle to slice off the core of each quarter to create wedges.
For Chopped Iceberg
- Remove and discard outer brown or wilted leaves.
- Wash and dry the head of lettuce.
- Remove the core.
- Slice the head in half.
- Cut ¾-inch strips lengthwise into each half.
- Rotate the strips 90 degrees and create slices ¾ apart.
For Shredded Iceberg
- Remove and discard outer brown or wilted leaves.
- Wash and dry the head of lettuce.
- Remove the core.
- Slice the head in half.
- Cut ¼-inch slivers throughout the entire half.
- Repeat on the other half head of lettuce.
